It was/is so fantastic I listened to the lengthy Deluxe edition and several tunes within it multiple times, it's awesome and I'm astonished that I was wholly ignorant about it until your post, frankly!
Excellent post though didn’t read on first glance but should know by now. Since I do trust you now implicitly. So I’ll give ‘Memory Lane’ a listen - now I’m a huge Ronnie Lane fan so a better Lane ? Nah, maybe an equal Lane we’ll see. Certainly appreciate your continued reporting on fake music & fake fans and ‘likes’. I heard about it first from you & from Ted Gioia the Honest Broker. Such a mess and there’s only a few reviewers I really trust anymore. I also enjoyed your memories of crate digging. Now I wasn’t a crate digger but I worked in a Jazz Collector’s Store - Berigan’s in Oakland where we were seeing the diggers come in during the ‘Acid’ phase buying from the crates where we put the “worst” or dollar records. The store even became the model for the store in Michael Chabon’s novel ‘Telegraph Avenue’ though he changed the genre from Jazz to Hip Hop.Little did we know that some bit of one of those records could become a sample on a hit record. Anyway I’ll get back to you on ‘Memory Lane’
